Top Three Tips to Successful Project Management

Managing projects is tough, stressful and patience testing even for the most well managed projects. In order to create a best case scenario when managing a contracting project, these Wolfgang certified tips are property manager, strata president and building owner friendly. Use these three tips after deciding on a given contractor.

Best Practice 1. Hold a Pre-Production Meeting
At least two weeks prior to work commencing, property managers are well advised to be involved in a pre-production meeting with the selected contractor and any other affected stakeholders.

Best Practice 2. Set a Weekly Meeting
At project commencement select a weekly day and time to check in with the project’s stakeholders to ensure that all involved parties are updated and content with project completion.

Best Practice 3. One List
Upon project completion, do not fall guilty of the many deficiency lists or scrap papers. Instead, have the designated project manager use only one deficiency list making monitoring successes and areas for improvement simple and measurable.
