Wolfgang Approach: Employee Engagement and Culture

At Wolfgang we take culture seriously and we work tirelessly to maintain an environment of voluntary employee engagement. During our weekly meetings all staff are invited to share where they’re currently at both professionally and personally. We then get into metrics and strategy and create another open space for contribution. Our weekly meetings work well, but there’s something to say about leaving the laptops for lattes and creating lasting, meaningful relationships among staff.
At Wolfgang we host numerous office staff (just us six) and contractor (many more than us six!) events throughout the year to create a culture of sharing and of deep rooted comradery. Just yesterday we hung out over an extended out of office lunch, discussing travel, fitness and painting too. Our next get together is a mere few weeks away on August 18.

Our Wolfgang staff lunches aren’t few and far between either; we go out every six to eight weeks. The lunches are a great way to decompress after a weekly meeting and allow for greater relationships.

So far in 2016 Wolfgang staff has enjoyed both bowling and go karting as team. We’re looking forward to an upcoming summer barbeque, a customer event in November and our annual Christmas staff party.

As a business owner or manager, what do you do to keep your team engaged?
