Fast Track To Summer Recap

The third annual Wolfgang Fast Track To Summer took place last Sunday, May 29 at Hastings Racecourse. And after our previous event, I couldn’t be happier for the outcome!

After a torrential downpour starting Friday night which carried on through the entirety of Saturday, I was elated to see sunshine and white clouds on Sunday morning.

We got started with set up, table topping, welcoming our DJ and sponsors at 1 p.m. and welcomed guests at 2 p.m. Food was available, the bar was open, music was playing and the crowd grew, quickly. Our customers brought their children who were entertained by bubbles, colouring books, a face painting artist, a balloon shaping artist and most importantly, one another. Guests were entertained by the eight races of the day, betting and enjoying time with friends and family.

Overall, the event truly was a tremendous success, but as always, it wouldn’t be a complete experience if I didn’t learn from it. Here are my top three takeaways to implement next time:

1. Consider Time and Date

I am considering planning the event on a Saturday next year and getting started a little earlier. I like the idea of 1:30-5:30 p.m. versus 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.

2. Better Sponsorships
Next year I plan on offering more value to our sponsors through social media, blogging and pre-event exposure.

3. Get on the Phone

I really enjoyed making personalized phone calls invite our customers to Fast Track. Next year I plan on creating additional opportunities to be connecting with our clientele.

Now to plan our November movie event!
