Leveraging Digital: Google Work Part One of Two

As of January 1, 2016, Wolfgang Commercial Painters officially made the flight into the clouds and above using Google Work. Google Work is a cloud based synchronization and storage device. It is a collection of applications ideally for small to medium sized businesses and allows users to work in the cloud automatically storing and saving all work completed. Wolfgang choose to utilize Google Work as a way to streamline systems, leverage technology and provide more efficient and effective communication between our Sales & Project Managers and their customers, and within the office.
Wolfgang Commercial Painters is a team of eight and through Google Work each employee has a domain linked email address. Users are able to share work simply, meet goals as a team, create and share systems, policies and procedures and work from anywhere in the province or world.

Although the Wolfpack is only three months in, the pros of Google Work are apparent: Work is instantly saved upon making any changes no matter how minor, work is stored and accessible via any internet connection, work is easily organized and shared, work can be collaborative and allow open editing, or can be locked for security purposes as view only, spelling is automatically checked and customers are thrilled with the quick turnaround of estimates to quotes through our ability to immediately store data and work anywhere.

The cloud functions as Google Drive. Within the Drive users will find a variety of tools including Google Docs, Sheets and Slides. All three are much like the Microsoft Office suite: A Google Doc equates to Word, Sheets are comparable to Excel and Slides are much like PowerPoint. All of the tools are simple to use and offer a variety of templates (incredibly helpful for efficiency!) such as proposals and letters.

Stay tuned for Leveraging Digital: Google Work Part Two of Two in which we will discuss apps used, areas for exploration, how the integration unraveled and a teaser into our next Leveraging Digital blog piece.

Here at Wolfgang our purpose is to make things better for our customers, our people and our partners. We sincerely hope that this post helps you in your digital quest and we’d be happy to answer any questions. Please email us or give us a call to learn more.
