Beyond Price and Quality: Smart Project Management

Construction projects are challenging: lots of moving parts and people to coordinate.  Over the years we have seen many property managers pull their hair out trying to manager a project.

Wolfgang manages over 300 painting projects per year.  When you hire us to complete a paint job, we assume the role of project manager, handle the burden of details and make your life a little easier.

What is different about Wolfgang’s approach to project management?

  • We have a dedicated operations team.  As opposed to staff that performs sales and operations duties, we believe that a singular focus is better.  Our project managers love operations and are specifically trained to guide your project smoothly to completion.
  • Prior to starting we conduct a pre-production meeting with all stakeholders and review a thorough production checklist to ensure all details are discussed.
  • We set up an online job blog that is updated weekly to ensure that all stakeholders are kept current as the job progresses.

At Wolfgang we break our projects down to three distinct stages:

Stage 1: Pre-Production
-Headaches are minimized by conducting a formal pre-production meeting.
-An effective pre-production meeting will:
-Establish a clear communication system for change orders, progress reports and anything that comes up.
-Establish key expectations for all stakeholders.
-Firm up and review all contract details including scope and colour.
-Go over specific job logistics like permits, storage and washrooms, security and parking, power and water… the list goes on…

Stage 2: Production
-After an effective pre-production meeting the job is ready to be produced.
-We schedule regular on site meetings with stakeholders to discuss progress and deal with issues.
-Along with paper notices, our online job blog is updated weekly to ensure that all stakeholders are kept current as the job progresses.

 Stage 3: The Final 5%
-We conduct a preliminary walkthrough with our crew and complete deficiencies prior to revealing the final job to our customer.
-We conduct a final walkthrough with the customer. If deficiencies are uncovered we build a final deficiency list, achieve alignment on the final list with our customer and complete the list in a timely fashion.
-We consider a job complete when: deficiencies are complete, equipment and garbage has been removed, the final bill has been received, and the customer has signed off.
-In the end, our customer receives a job completion package, which includes a detailed colour schedule.

And that’s it! That is how we manage our hundreds of projects per year. If you need a quote for your building click here.
